C-SPAN launched a new bi-weekly podcast for educators, “C-SPAN in the Classroom,” on Nov. 7. Each 15- to 20-minute episode features C-SPAN clips and C-SPAN Classroom resources that highlight current events, topical discussions or key historical moments.
The C-SPAN Education Relations team will host the new podcast and feature occasional appearances from guests in the education community. They will discuss strategies for incorporating C-SPAN resources into class discussions, as well as activities to use with students. “C-SPAN in the Classroom” will also provide tips on how to start new projects, such as StudentCam, C-SPAN’s annual video documentary competition for middle and high school students.
The first episode, “Election Day, Voting Rights and Voter Turnout,” is available now and discusses the origin of voting day, the Constitutional foundation for elections and voter turnout. Upcoming programs will feature topics on current events and historical anniversaries.
