Epson, the number-one projector manufacturer in the world1, is excited to announce that one of its key customers, Victor Valdez, Chief Technology Officer for the Pflugerville Independent School District, was named the winner in the Tech Edvocate Awards for Best School District Technology Coordinator/Director. He was recognized for his role in supporting the district’s growth through purchasing student devices and installing Epson BrightLink® displays in every classroom.
The BrightLink interactive display turns any flat surface into a large digital whiteboard up to 100 inches allowing students and teachers to control, annotate, and more using their fingers or an interactive pen. Pflugerville Independent School District has installed 2,000 BrightLink displays since 2015. “The BrightLink allows us to have a consistent presentation solution for every classroom and every student. We could not have gotten the same bright, large 100-inch image at such an affordable price with any other option. Our teachers love that they can use it in any type of lighting and still have access to their whiteboards when the display is not on,” Valdez said.
Valdez and the rest of the district’s team of instructional technology specialists also create opportunities for educators to share and learn new skills. Opportunities include leading lessons using BrightLink’s interactivity features, attending grade-level or department planning sessions, and “lunch and learn” workshops showcasing interactive tools. “Victor continues to work hard to provide students with an innovative classroom experience where collaboration can thrive and faculty with the opportunities to learn more about innovative technology,” said Tom Piche, product manager, Projectors, Epson America, Inc. “It is impressive to see him being honored by Tech Edvocate Awards for his leadership.”
The BrightLink 1485Fi was also named a finalist in this year’s Tech Edvocate Awards for Best Classroom Audio-Visual App or Tool. The Tech Edvocate Awards recognize the year’s top edtech companies, products, and people. The finalists and winners were selected by public vote and by a panel of judges.
