Conference organizer PBLWorks also co-hosts its first Project Based Learning Workshops in the UK and Australia

PBLWorks, the leading provider of professional development for high-quality Project Based Learning (PBL), has opened registration for its annual PBL World conference, the premier event of its kind. PBL World 2020 will take place over three days, June 16-18, 2020, in Napa Valley, CA.  To register, visit https://bit.ly/2O0J0J3.

Now in its ninth year, PBL World brings together more than 1,400 K-12 teachers, instructional coaches, and school and district administrators for three days of immersive workshops based on Gold Standard PBL. Workshops are designed for educators who are ready to start their Project Based Learning journey, or advance their practice.

PBL World is known for its highly unique and collaborative environment. It attracts a vibrant community of educators, who engage in deep, focused work together.  The conference also offers thought-provoking keynotes from PBL leaders and student speakers.

New PBL workshops arrive in the UK and Australia

This year, PBLWorks expands professional development opportunities for educators internationally by co-hosting PBL Institutes in the United Kingdom and Australia.

PBL United Kingdom will take place Nov. 22-24, 2019 at Newcastle University. This event is produced in partnership with the Edge Foundation. For information, visit: http://bit.ly/PBLNewcastle

PBL Australia (“PBL Down Under”) is scheduled for Jan. 14-16, 2020 in Tweed Coast, New South Wales, near the Gold Coast. For information, visit: http://bit.ly/PBLAus

Both of these international events offer the PBLWorks Gold Standard PBL 101 Workshops, which provides a foundation for teachers and administrators who want to launch or expand their use of PBL in the classroom.

“Project Based Learning transforms schools. It engages students in authentic projects that prepare them for the future they’re going to be living in,” said Bob Lenz, CEO of PBLWorks. “We’re excited to help educators get started in this important work, here and overseas.”

About Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning gives teachers a way to make learning come alive for students. Working on an authentic, meaningful  project for an extended period of time – anywhere from a week to a full semester – students become engaged in solving a real-world problem or answering a complex question. They demonstrate their new knowledge and skills by developing a public product, or making a presentation to an audience beyond their classroom. As a result, students develop deep content knowledge and build skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication.

About PBLWorks

PBLWorks (the brand name of the Buck Institute for Education) believes that all students – no matter where they live or what their background – should have access to quality Project Based Learning to deepen their learning and achieve success in college, career, and life. Our focus is on building the capacity of teachers to design and facilitate quality Project Based Learning, and on supporting school and system leaders in creating the conditions for these teachers to succeed with all students.
