The Virtual High School (VHS, Inc.) announced that registration for the spring 2020 semester is now open. Interested schools, students and parents can go to https://go.vhslearning.org/getstarted2020 to access a wide variety of more than 200 unique courses, including computer science, social studies, science, and engineering offerings. Flexible credit recovery options are also available. All courses are offered within VHS’s unique global online classroom environment that helps students develop college and career readiness skills and gives them access to more learning choices. The spring 2020 semester begins January 29.
In the spring 2020 semester, students can choose from unique and interesting online courses covering everything from mathematics to business to the arts. For students with an interest in literature and culture, Ghoulies, Ghosties, and Long-Legged Beasties is a literature analysis course where they will explore how literature has addressed and affected the multi-faceted question of what happens after humans die. Students will investigate and interpret different perspectives on the afterlife by reading a variety of literature and writing essays on multiple genres.
Students who want to explore STEM topics can begin learning about climate change and the effects of greenhouse gases in Climate Science, an honors STEM course that helps students better understand Earth as a dynamic system and then challenges them to evaluate how certain factors impact Earth’s delicate systems. Students research and evaluate a climate change impact story of their choice and learn how to communicate about climate issues in meaningful ways.
