VHS Learning is a nonprofit organization providing supplemental online classes to high schools and students. They partner with schools and districts to create programs in their schools, and work directly with parents and students that want to enroll in classes individually.
Students frequently request math courses they can take during the summer months, so VHS Learning has added these highly requested offerings to their course catalogue. While students have up to six weeks to finish each course section, it’s possible to finish a section in as little as four weeks. They can also register for the next section while finishing the first to complete a credit in eight weeks.
In section A of Algebra 1, students will evaluate algebraic expressions as well as solve and graph linear equations. Section A of Algebra 2 emphasizes the use of appropriate functions to model real-world situations and solve problems that arise from those situations. The first section of Geometry includes practical applications that show students how geometric reasoning provides insight into everyday life. Pre-Calculus will have students focus on graphing functions and understanding and identifying parts of a graph.
Many students view math with a degree of trepidation, so it’s an excellent idea to explore the subject in a more relaxed environment during the summer. These math courses are designed to engage students with videos, interactive activities, and real-world examples. VHS Learning is dedicated to helping students succeed, and their teachers and staff are ready to help students reach their full potential.

What makes VHS Learning unique?
VHS Learning has a strong focus on career and technical education. They offer a variety of courses that help prepare students for life beyond high school. By taking a unique elective in a subject of interest while in high school, students can better understand the options available to them and discover possible future career paths.
To help students discover how VHS Learning courses can lead them to future careers, the organization created career exploration pathways that provide students with guidance on course selection.
Career pathways include business, computer science, criminal justice, engineering, environmental science, health care and medicine, writing and journalism, and more. VHS Learning is continuously seeking to add more career and technical options to help students explore their interests and discover their passion.
Additionally, VHS Learning is committed to expanding access to computer science education. It offers both AP® Computer Science A and AP® Computer Science Principles. AP® results for both courses are very strong, consistently exceeding both the Massachusetts and global AP exam averages.
In 2024, 80% of all VHS Learning students who took the AP® Computer Science Principles exam passed with a score of 3 or better and 70% of all VHS Learning students who took the AP® Computer Science A exam passed with a score of 3 or better. Along with the opportunity to earn college credit, in many states and districts these courses earn students a math credit towards high school graduation requirements.
