Charlotte N.C. – Assessment leader Apperson will host a free webinar at 3 p.m. EST, April 21, 2016 with William M. Bresser, director of operations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati, to discuss how after school organizations can drive organizational and programming improvements by looking at social & emotional learning data.

The webinar, “How Social & Emotional Learning Drives Action and Improvement in Your Community” will showcase the SEL work of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati and will offer tips for other out-of-school-time organizations that are seeking to implement SEL programs and assessments.

During the webinar, Bresser will explain how his organization formed a steering committee to address SEL. He will also describe how it uses the results of the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (the DESSA), a strengths-based SEL assessment, to inform professional development, interventions, data practices, budgeting, staff training and program quality.

“We made our programming probably better these last 2-3 years than ever before due to the DESSA data and our focus on SEL,” said Bresser. “It’s been transformative for us in how we deliver programming.”

The webinar also features Marc Kirsch, business development manager and SEL product strategist for Apperson.

The webinar is part of Apperson’s ongoing work to support educators, administrators and out-of-school-time organizations in implementing social and emotional learning programs within their schools.
