Carolina Biological Supply teams with Blending Education to deliver interactive K-12 education content for teachers and students through Carolina Science Online portal
BURLINGTON, NC, Oct. 3, 2018 -- Leading school science supplier Carolina Biological Supply Company, in partnership with education publisher Blending Education, LLC, launched the new high school AP® Biology online science course. Enhancing and extending Carolina's current curriculum resources, the course includes eight units of engaging digital resources for Advanced Placement® biology teachers and students. Teachers and students can now access the Carolina Science Online (CSO) portal at school or home from any device with Internet access to experience Blending Education’s full AP® Biology course. Hundreds of microlessons provide both flexibility and comprehensive coverage of the scope and sequence requirements of a typical two-semester Advanced Placement® biology course to support students’ success in challenging AP biology classes. The course is live and available now. This release follows Carolina’s summer launch of the enhanced new version of CSO, delivering robust online educational resources on a modern online platform.
Teachers can now seamlessly integrate hundreds of Blending Education’s digital microlessons into their teaching through the CSO platform to provide engaging, interactive, educational experiences for their students. Each resource provides excellent coverage of the AP® framework while addressing the sheer breadth of biology topics in an interesting and accessible way.

The AP Biology course contains 205 self-grading microlessons, plus 38 final assessments. Each microlesson begins with a “Connection for AP Courses” and highlights the key concepts of the lesson in the context of the AP® Biology Curriculum Framework. It then delivers the lesson through rich interactive features that engage students in scientific practice, followed by a knowledge-check quiz with feedback, in order to prepare them for similar questions on the AP Examination, if they choose to take it.
