The Office of Early Learning and Literacy (OELL) at the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) recently announced that Frog Street Pre-K has been approved for the SCDE early learning curriculum list. A panel of early childhood education experts used a rubric during a comprehensive and rigorous review of the early learning curriculum submitted through the SCDE call for submissions conducted in October 2022.

“Frog Street is thrilled to be on the new list of approved curriculum providers in South Carolina, expanding our presence across the U.S.," commented Lee Ramsayer, Frog Street CEO. "We are committed to equipping early childhood educators, families and communities with the best resources, tools and professional development to successfully educate each and every child -- and we welcome South Carolina to the Frog Street Family!”

The SCDE must generate an approved curriculum list for Child Early Reading Development and Education Program (CERDEP). In addition, CERDEP providers must use a high-quality, center-based program that uses an approved research-based preschool curriculum that addresses all foundational early learning domains, including critical child development skills, emerging and early literacy, numeracy, and social and emotional development. Frog Street Pre-K is now available to all districts in South Carolina.

Frog Street will be featured in a curriculum showcase hosted by SCDE on January 17, 2023, beginning at 9:00 AM at the South Carolina Archives and History Building, 8301 Parklane Road, Columbia, SC 29223. The showcase will allow district representatives the opportunity to participate in a presentation and review materials from curriculum providers. Districts will be required to submit curriculum choices by March 10, 2023.
