Quick Key Mobile, the iOS app that has been making life easier for teachers since 2013, is finally coming to Android. Today Quick Key opened its new free Android App BETA on Google Play. The Beta is open to anybody with an Android device and a Gmail account who goes through Google Play’s system for Beta testing new apps. When the Android app comes out of BETA, it will remain a free app.
Cambridge, MA - Quick Key Mobile has released a BETA version of its new mobile quiz scanning app for the Android platform. The Android app does everything that the company’s popular iOS app does, but sports a slick new user interface that is even easier to use than the original iOS app.
Quick Key users like Al Elliott, a teacher in Alabama, have been waiting a long time for an Android version of Quick Key’s life-altering mobile scanner. According to Elliott “Quick Key is the most powerful tool for teachers that I have seen in a long time. I use it when I can, with a school-issued iPad. But now that it’s on Android, I can use my own device. I am very, very happy right now!"
This release comes close on the heels of Quick Key’s new Pro and Pro SITE apps, which were released just a couple of weeks ago in January 2015.
According to Isaac Van Wesep, Quick Key’s CEO, “At long last, Android phone and tablet users will be able to use Quick Key Mobile to scan paper quizzes and save a ton of time. Here in the USA, many people prefer the Android platform to iOS. Around the world, this is even more so. Quick Key for Android is available to anybody with access to Google Play.”
The new Android beta scans the same answer sheets as Quick Key’s iOS app, and users who already have an account with Quick Key only need to install the Android BETA and login to start using it right away. To get access to the new Android BETA, users must first join the Android BETA Google Group - http://hubs.ly/y0vxVr0 - which generates an invitation ID for their Gmail account. Once they have joined, they can accept their invitation and download the BETA on Google Play for BETA, here: http://quickkeyapp.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=11b11977fc972dcac7eb70e74&id=fe685bd34a&e=eab90ca719
To use the BETA, users will also need to create a user account at Quick Key’s Website at get.quickkeyapp.com
New features are coming fast and furious from Quick Key right now. The new Pro and Pro SITE apps have updated student tracking, custom student IDs, a new Quiz Builder that lets users write and print quizzes, and even a way to form teams and share quizzes within Quick Key. And the fun doesn’t stop there.
“We are very close to releasing 100-quesiton quiz scanning to both the iOS and Android mobile scanning apps” says Quick Key computer vision engineer Matthew Wymore. “As well as standards tagging and integrations with popular student information and learner management systems.” Said Wymore.
Quick Key is free for iOS and Android users, offering unlimited scanning to free users. Quick Key Pro and Pro SITE offer expanded student tracking.
