SAN MATEO, Calif., March 28, 2019—Swing Education, an on-demand marketplace for substitute teachers, is now accepting applications for its Substitute Teacher Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame’s inaugural class will recognize three substitute teachers for their outstanding work as educators and their contributions to the students, teachers, and schools they serve. The inductees will be announced during National Substitute Teacher Week this May and profiled on the Swing Education website.
Inductees into the Substitute Teacher Hall of Fame will receive a prize package that includes a $500 cash award, $250 for professional development or school supplies, and a plaque.
“Substitute teachers are so important to the success of our educational community as a whole,” said Mike Teng, CEO of Swing Education. “The Substitute Teacher Hall of Fame will recognize a select group of these exceptional teachers who are making a difference in students’ lives. By honoring these individuals and sharing their stories, we hope to encourage others to join this rewarding profession.”
All nominations, which will detail the substitute teacher’s impact in the classroom, are due by Friday, April 26, 2019. Any individual who is a substitute teacher regularly working at district, charter, private, or parochial schools in the United States and its territories and who has been teaching for one or more years is eligible for the Substitute Teacher Hall of Fame. Substitute teachers may be nominated by others or may nominate themselves for this recognition.
