Data from VHS Learning (VHS, Inc.) shows that an increasing number of partner schools are customizing VHS Learning programs to accommodate the specific needs of their local student populations. Additionally, the latest VHS Learning survey data shows that most participating schools are highly satisfied with their overall experiences with the nonprofit organization.

VHS Learning offers schools the ability to manage and facilitate courses exclusively for their own students, according to each school’s particular scheduling and timing needs. Partner schools can use VHS Learning online courses in blended or hybrid models, and can adapt the courses for trimesters, summer school, or winter schedules. Schools can also use VHS Learning’s course platform to create their own blended classrooms. VHS Learning shares best practices with its school partners so each school can quickly and easily develop their own online/blended program, leveraging expertise and guidance from VHS Learning.

“In 2018, VHS Learning had 1,024 custom enrollments and that number increased to 1,735 this year. That’s a 69 percent increase in just two years,” said Carol Ribeiro, President & CEO of VHS Learning. “It’s a clear indication that our partner schools are seeing the benefits of using VHS Learning to develop customized programs that best suit local school needs. One size does not fit all and we’re happy our experience can help schools provide more learning options for their students.”

In fact, educators are reporting seeing benefits with working with VHS Learning in general. The organization’s end-of-year surveys (2018-19) showed high rates of satisfaction among administrators (88%), teachers (97%), and on-site coordinators (99%).

Site coordinators such as Robert Jackson at Boston Adventist Dream Academy in Massachusetts shared, “The customer service is beyond amazing. The staff is always helpful and professional. Keep up the great work.”

Another site coordinator, Debra Pooler at Wiscasset Middle High School in Maine, wrote, “VHS Learning staff are always prompt in getting back to me with answers to my questions. VHS Learning really cares about the students and their success.”

Students have certainly had a solid record of success in VHS Learning courses. In the 2018-19 academic year, their overall pass rate (defined as completing a course with a final grade of 60 or higher) was 91%. And for the last three years, 91% of students taking a VHS Learning course have succeeded in achieving a final grade of 60 or higher.

The increasing flexibility through customization and high levels of satisfaction and student success resulted in the vast majority of partner schools (93%) opting to continue working with VHS Learning from the 2018-19 academic year through 2019-20 (on average, 93% of schools have stayed on as partners over the past three years).

“We have made it our mission to cultivate powerful relationships with schools, and the positive feedback from our partner schools has been extremely gratifying,” said Ribeiro. “We look forward to continuing our collaborations with schools so that students can be better prepared for college, careers, and life.”
