Support of Student Privacy and Security of Student Data Leads Raytown Quality Schools to Select itslearning as its LMS Platform

District Has Earned the Trusted Learning Environment Seal; Essential to Have Learning System that Meets High Data Standards of Trust and Transparency

Raytown Quality Schools, one of just seven districts in the nation to receive the Consortium for School Networking (COSN) Trusted Learning Environmental Seal, has chosen itslearning as its new learning management system (LMS) after a rigorous search for a partner that could support the district’s commitment to student data privacy.

The state of Missouri had originally moved forward with another LMS for a state-wide contract. However, Raytown Director of Instructional Technology Melissa Tabbenkamp, CETL, realized that the other provider didn’t meet the Trusted Learning Environment standards. So she searched for a different LMS, one that would support her district’s commitment to this 21st century educational challenge of student data privacy and security.

“We are responsible for safeguarding our student’s data privacy in a digital terrain, and we needed the framework that itslearning readily offers to not only assure but demonstrate to parents that we are committed to protecting student data,” said Tebbenkamp.
