FORT WORTH, Texas, July 8, 2026—To help support reading readiness and early literacy, Just Right Reader recently released its Knowledge and Language Building Library for pre-kindergarten students. The collection of 60 fiction and nonfiction books—available in both English and Spanish—are designed to develop students’ oral language, vocabulary, and background knowledge as they start their reading journey.

“We know a strong literacy foundation helps kids become confident readers and lifelong learners,” said Sara Rich, founder and CEO of Just Right Reader. “Our Knowledge and Language Building Library introduces students to engaging, real-world topics while building the vocabulary, oral language, and background knowledge they need to accelerate learning. We’re so excited that families can be part of the experience, too, making it easier to support literacy in the classroom, at home, and everywhere.”

The topic-based sets cover the themes of all about me, animals, building things, colors, community helpers, habitats, nutrition, plants, seasons, and transportation. Each book specifically helps build students’ knowledge, supports the language comprehension strands of Scarborough’s Rope, and strengthens oral language and real-world connections with included writing prompts and structured conversation starters. The books also include ready-to-use lesson plans for teachers, as well as QR code-accessible family video lessons to guide teachers and caregivers in engaging students with the books.

In addition to being offered as standalone sets, the Knowledge and Language Building Library is also available as Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™. These packs are designed to make shared reading easy and effective, engage families in the joy of reading, and accelerate reading achievement for all students. After using the books in classroom instruction, students can take them home in their customized backpacks to continue practicing with their families.

Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ include:

  • Science of Reading-based literacy resources and activity pages in English or Spanish, personalized for each student and customized for every district
  • Easy-to-follow teacher-led videos in English and Spanish so families can confidently support learning at home
  • District-branded backpacks and personalized video messages from district leaders to families
