(SAINT PAUL, MN) July 15, 2026 — KidWind is pleased to announce the selection of Remy Pangle as its Executive Director, marking an exciting new chapter in the organization's more than two decades of inspiring students and educators through hands-on clean energy education. KidWind founder Michael Arquin will work alongside Pangle during the transition period.
Founded in 2001, KidWind has grown from a small educational initiative into an internationally recognized leader in renewable energy and STEM education, reaching hundreds of thousands of students and educators through curriculum development, teacher training programs, and the internationally recognized KidWind Challenge competitions.
“Remy brings a unique combination of leadership, educational expertise, and passion for KidWind's mission. I have worked with her for years and feel like she is the perfect person to expand on our mission,” said Arquin. “Over the coming months, we'll work closely together to ensure a smooth transition and position KidWind for continued growth and impact. I couldn't be more excited about the future of the organization under her leadership.”
Pangle has worked for years in clean energy education as the Executive Director of REpowering Schools and as the Managing Director & Education Manager for the Center for the Advancement of Sustainable Energy at James Madison University. Pangle also has vast experience executing KidWind programming - and has led dramatic growth in regional KidWind programming in Virginia and the wider mid-Atlantic region for over a decade.

As part of the transition, Arquin will remain actively involved with KidWind in his role as Founder, providing strategic guidance, supporting major initiatives, and helping ensure the organization's mission and values continue to guide its work. His ongoing involvement will help maintain continuity while allowing new leadership to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the organization.
