At the ASU/GSV Conference in San Diego, April 14th, LeiLani met John French, Superintendent at Lewis County C-1 School District in Missouri. Dragging him away from the lunch happening on the main floor, LeiLani asked French what he was proudest of with his District work – and the recording was lost. On to the discussion of Portrait of a Graduate and all the AI talk at the conference. Important points made regarding local address by districts. Stop thinking about college-and-career things of the past, and start thinking about teaching students to self-navigate all jobs. Also hear French’s opinion about the rhetoric by most media that public schools are failing (not true!), and LeiLani’s points about how schools really need to address real change with structures that aren’t the manufacturing pattern of old.
